Mojave Quick Start Guide 

GETTING STARTED WITH THE MOJAVE FLASH LIDAR SENSOR

Congratulations on purchasing your Mojave, the sensor that sets thestandard for excellent performance at an affordable price. Let’s get started.Just follow the steps below.

STEP 1: UNPACK THE BOX

Remove the clear plastic tab securing the lid and open the Mojave box. Inside, you will find two items.
* Mojave Flash Lidar Sensor
* USB-C cable 

STEP 2: DOWNLOAD THE MOJAVE SDK

The Mojave SDK is currently available for Linux systems. Go to our SoftwarePage and select the Mojave SDK. Once downloaded, double-click the icon to uncompressed the file folder, then open the folder. If the folder downloaded without being compressed, simply open the folder.

STEP 3: INSTALL THE PREACT VIEWER

With the Mojave SDK folder open, look for the PreAct Viewer App Image file.Move this file to your preferred destination on your hard drive. Next, hover over the PreAct Viewer file icon and right click. You should see the viewer’s properties screen. Click on the Permissions tab. Set both OwnerAccess and Group Access to the Read and write option. Click on the box next to Allow executing file as program so that an “X”appears. Close the window. 

STEP 4: CONNECT THE SENSOR

Unpack your sensor and remove the clear plastic film from the lens. Next, take the enclosed USB-C cable, plugging one end into the sensor and the other into the appropriate port on your computer.

STEP 5: LAUNCH THE PREACT VIEWER

Double click on the PreAct Viewer icon. Launch should take between 20 and30 seconds. If you click on the icon again before the viewer is fully launched, it may open with multiple windows. If this happens, simply close any additional windows.

Once open, you should see a window like the one shown here. If your sensoris properly connected, images for Amplitude, Distance and 3Dshould appear. If you don’t see images, disconnect, and reconnect your sensorinto the USB port. Images should appear in the viewer within 5-10 seconds. If images do not appear, visit our Help Guide.

The PreAct Viewer gives you the ability to customize the settings andparameters of your Mojave sensor to optimize it for the environment it will beused in.
